We are looking at an Akari light sculpture, the 1N. One of the many Akari that Isamu Noguchi designed. The sculpture appears uncommon, yet obtainable. A modern light bulb illuminates the traditional handwork and the natural materials of the shade.

Blurring the lines between functional product and art object, it escapes categorization. The floating form looks like the sail of a boat. The tripod legs appear ready for a lunar landing.
