Swag Leg Chair

Regular price $0.00 CAD

A true icon of mid-century design, the Swag Leg Chair by George Nelson embodies the perfect blend of elegance and innovation. Designed with a distinctive tapered "swagged" leg, this chair was crafted using the same pioneering fiberglass technology as the legendary Eames Shell Chairs.

While vintage originals are increasingly rare, Herman Miller has reintroduced this classic with modern updates - replacing the fiberglass shell with durable molded polypropylene while preserving the chair’s signature sculptural form. This set of six features sleek white seats atop chrome-plated bases, offering a timeless aesthetic that seamlessly fits into contemporary and vintage-inspired interiors alike.

A rare chance to own a piece of design history, these chairs bring effortless sophistication to any dining space, office, or creative setting.

About the Designer

Herman Miller was founded in 1905 as the Star Furniture Co. In 1919, it was renamed the Michigan Star Furniture Co. under then-president Dirk Jan De Pree. De Pree and his father-in-law, Herman Miller, (born Harm Mulder on 7 September 1867 in Hoogemeeden, Groningen, Netherlands) acquired most of the company's shares in 1923 and renamed it the Herman Miller Furniture Company.

George Nelson:
Architect, designer, and writer George Nelson was a central figure in the mid-century American modernist design movement; and his thoughts influenced not only the furniture we live with, but also how we live.

Nelson came to design via journalism and literature. Upon receiving his bachelor’s degree in architecture from Yale in 1931, he won the Prix de Rome fellowship, and spent his time in Europe writing magazine articles that helped bring stateside recognition to Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Gio Ponti, Le Corbusier and other canonical modernist architects.
