Designed in 1965, the Serpente lamp by Elio Martinelli for Martinelli Luce isn’t just lighting—it’s movement frozen in time. With its hypnotic, serpentine form, this lamp bends like a question mark, soft and sculptural, almost alive. It feels more like a piece of visual poetry than a functional object.

The arm arcs in a perfect gesture, holding a glowing dome of white methacrylate that gently swivels to cast light where you want it—like moonlight guided by your hand. Born in the golden era of Italian design, the Serpente was a bold experiment in form and material. 

In a good vintage condition, some wear to base consistent with age.
